I am a front end web developer and content management system integrator. I have been working on all things web since 1996. Titles have changed over the years, I started out being called a coder that then became known as a developer which in turn evolved into front end developer. The common core throughout has been HTML, CSS. Whether it be server side or client side scripting ultimately my job has always been about making things work and making them easy to use.

Currently I am focusing on Content Management Systems, the reason being is I feel these systems provide an amazing amount of control and functionality for a client at the fraction of the cost a similar sites would have been 5 years ago. This has prompted me to include CMS Integrator into my job title simply because part of the work is coding and the other part is making a large group of parts work together.

Another factor that has pushed me towards exclusively using a CMS is control, or more specifically giving it up. The most consistent issue clients have with their website is the feeling that they don’t own it. In the past changes or updates to a site required a 3rd party to do the work, a web developer or a webmaster. Now by using a CMS it gives back the control of the content to the client. So In addition to creating sites using a CMS I also spend a great deal of time training clients how to use WordPress and the theme they have selected.
